Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-treatment process effective for masking a metal mold, etc. at nitriding, wherein the metal mold is made through electric discharge machining using carbon electrodes.
SOLUTION: The process for preventing nitriding in the metal mold comprises a diluting step wherein a coating for preventing nitriding is diluted, a spraying step wherein the diluted coating is loaded into a sprayer and sprayed onto a part where nitriding needs to be prevented, a nitriding step wherein the entire metal mold including the part coated with the coating in the spraying step is nitrided and a peeling step wherein the coating sprayed in the nitriding step is peeled off. This prevents nitriding of the aluminum wheel mold.
