Abstract:

To provide a fluorescent powder having a wide color control range and used for a high-luminance pink emitting diode, and a pink emitting diode.

The fluorescent powder comprises a powder of an yttrium- aluminum-garnet fluorescent material represented by the formula: (Y3-x-yZxEuy) Al5O12 or (Y3ZxEuy)Al5O12 [wherein O<x≤0.8; 0<y≤1.5; and Z is selected from the group consisting of rare earth metals except europium (Eu)], obtained by using a gelling process and a coprecipitation process wherein the composition of a metal powder mixture is adjusted. This high-luminance pink emitting device has a phosphor containing the fluorescent powder.
