Abstract:
To provide a process for producing a product containing an isocyanate with a remarkably reduced hydrolyzable chlorine content and total chlorine content without requiring a further purification step.
The process comprises a step of providing an amine reactant and a step of reacting the amine reactant with a stream of phosgene in a reaction zone to form a product containing the corresponding isocyanate, the stream of phosgene having an average CO content of 0.5 wt.% or more.
