Abstract:
To provide a process for producing terephthalic acid.SOLUTION: Provided is a process for producing terephthalic acid that includes a step in which a liquid to be titrated, which is water, is provided, a step in which a disodium terephthalate aqueous solution and an acidic titration liquid are added to the liquid to be titrated to form a terephthalic acid crystal and a titration endpoint solution, and a step in which the terephthalic acid crystal and the titration endpoint solution are separated. A method for producing terephthalic acid in which, preferably, during the period when the disodium terephthalate aqueous solution and the acidic titration liquid are added to the liquid to be titrated, the pH value of said liquid to be titrated is 1.0 to 3.5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
