To provide an effective process for production of a dialkyl oxalate or/and a dialkyl carbonate, and an apparatus for production thereof.
The process for production of the dialkyl oxalate or/and the dialkyl carbonate includes a first step to produce a reaction gas including the dialkyl oxalate or/and the dialkyl carbonate and nitrogen monoxide by reacting a gas including carbon monoxide and an alkyl nitrite in a first reaction vessel 1 in the presence of a catalyst; a second step to give a condensed solution including the dialkyl oxalate or/and the dialkyl carbonate, and a non-condensed gas including nitrogen monoxide by contacting the reaction gas and an absorbing solution in an absorbing apparatus 2; a third step to disperse and supply a molecular oxygen to the non-condensed gas using one or plural nozzles and supplying the mixed gas to the second reaction vessel while oxidizing the nitrogen monoxide in piping to react the mixed gas and an alkanol to thereby give an alkyl nitrite-containing gas in a second reaction vessel 3, and to circulate and supply the alkyl nitrite-containing gas to the first step; and a fourth step to give the dialkyl oxalate or/and the dialkyl carbonate by distillation of the condensed solution with a distillation apparatus. There is also provided the apparatus for production thereof.
