Title:
PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF INVERTED MICELLES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP01029405
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain inverted micelles with the structure that a polymer layer is surrounding the core made of aqueous phase without requiring any emulsifying agent by polymerizing specified ionic monomers after inverted micells are formed through the formation of water-in-oil emulsion of the monomers.

CONSTITUTION: An ionic monomer of formula I which the monomer itself shows surface activeness with an emulsifying property [wherein R1-2 are alkyls having ≥6 carbons in lenear form; R3 is lower (1-2C) alkyl; R4 is 1 to 4 methylene; R5-6 are each H or alkyl; Y is -O-CO-, -CO-O, -NH-CO-, -CO-O-CH2-, -O-PO(OR3)- or phenylene; X- is an anion] (example: formula II) is suspended, without a presence of any emulsifying agents, into water-in-oil comprising a oil phase of hydrocarbon or halogenated hydrocarbon and an aqueous phase containing one or more colorants or chemical reagents to form water-in-oil emulsion, leading to the formation of inverted micells. Then, by polymerizing the component-(a) the polymer layers are formed surrounding the micell cores made of the aqueous phase.
