Abstract:
To develop a process for production of highly pure naftopidil with high yield.
In the process for production of naftopidil by a reaction of 1-(2-methoxyphenyl)-piperazine (2MOPP) and 1,2-epoxy-3-(1-naphthyloxy)-propane (ENOP), a two-step method is used which uses 2MOPP hydrochloride as a starting substance without using the free compound, including: converting the hydrochloride into the free compound in a mixed solution; and reacting the free compound with ENOP.
