PURPOSE: To obtain an expensive reagent by penetrating a chemically (in)active form between the first side and the second side of a reactor installed with a permselective wall allowing to couple chemical reactions of both sides.
CONSTITUTION: Using the permselective partition(ME) made of regenerated cellulose, etc., as the border, in the first side the first reactants comprising inactive reagent such as hydrogen iodide, etc., and glucose, etc., are made to carry out a transfer reaction of atomic group(e.g.: electron) in the (absence) presence of a catalyst to afford the first reaction product such as aldonic acid, etc. The inactive reagent penetrated through the ME in the second side is made to carry out the transfer reaction of atomic group(e.g.: electron) in the (absence) presence of a catalyst with the second reactant such as NaClO3, etc., and the active reagent such as iodine, etc., to afford the second product such as NaCl, etc. The chemical potential of the active reagent is raised at this same time with this reaction, and the chemical potential of the inert reagent is lowered and two type of reagents are made to penetrate, diffuse to the permselective partition by using the generated potential difference to regenerate the chemically active form.
