To easily perform a taking-out operation of a processed article after compression by a simple mechanism and to return a pushing-out plate to an original position before the next waste is fed in a compression apparatus for the waste or the like.

The compression apparatus includes: a compression means having a compression room having an openable/closeable taking-out door 41 at a taking-out opening, and a pressing body 34 moving up and down in the compression room; and a bundling apparatus for bundling compressed processed articles. In the compression apparatus, a processed article pushing-out mechanism for pushing the processed article in the taking-out direction after the processed articles are bundled, depends on the processed article pushing-out mechanism of the compression apparatus including: the pushing-out plate 20 provided at an opposing position of the taking-out opening of the compression room and capable of pushing the processed article in the taking-out direction from the compression room; a pushing-out means for actuating the pushing-out plate 20 to push the processed article in the taking-out direction from the compression room by elevating the pressing body 34; and a pushing-out plate returning means 7 for returning the pushing-out plate 20 moved in the taking-out opening direction to a position of the opposing wall of the taking-out opening by a closing action of the taking-out door 41.
