Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the processing method for an electrophotographic planographic printing plate which can not only uniformly elute the entire surface of the plate while suppressing the thinning of the line images and preventing an elution defect at the time of elution but also make the stable elution treatment over a long period of time while suppressing the deterioration of liquid characteristics and further, drastically decreases the volume of the liquid remaining after liquid measurement and the frequencies of liquid exchanges and decreases the waste liquid and the burden of maintenance and administration.
CONSTITUTION: Toner images are formed by an electrophotographic method on a planographic printing original plate constituted by providing a photoconductive layer contg. at least an org. photoconductive compd. and a binder resin on a conductive base and thereafter, the photoconductive layer of the non-image part exclusive of the toner image parts is eluted away by an alkaline eluting soln., by which the alkaline elution type electrophotographic planographic printing plate is obtd. The method for processing such planographic printing plate consists in excessively supplying the eluting soln. to the toner image formed surface to swell and solubilize the photoconductive layer of the non-image part, when measuring the specified volume of the elute on the plate and removing the solubilized photoconductive layer and the remaining eluate backward of the transportation thereof.
