Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder maximizing calculation accuracy while ensuring real time performance.
SOLUTION: An audio signal is inputted to reset a timer (S1). The frequency of the audio signal is divided into 32 frequency bands (S2) so as to calculate a scale factor (S3). Then a masking level where a processing time is fluctuated based on a signal is calculated (S41) and whether or not a timer value is higher than a reference value is judged (S42). When judged to be higher than the reference value, masking level conversion processing in the step S43 is conducted. When not, the processing of the step S44 is conducted. In this case, the processing in the step S43 is conducted at low accuracy but its processing time is short. On the other hand, the processing of the step S44 is conducted at high accuracy but its processing time is long.
