To provide a processing method for a heat developable photosensitive material by which unevenness in development is not caused even by rapid processing and the raw stock preservability of the photosensitive material is complemented.

A heat developable photosensitive material having photosensitive silver halide, an organic silver salt, a reducing agent for silver ions and a binder on the substrate, containing a hydrazine derivative or a quaternary onium salt and having 0.5-2.5 g/cm2 Ag and 2-12 μm dry thickness of the photosensitive silver halide-containing layer is processed with an automatic heat processing machine having a heat development part at 110-150°C development temperature for 3-10 sec development time.
