PURPOSE: To increase the productivity of a combing device by directly supplying a fiber tuft after combed by a circular comb to the nipping position of a detaching roller.

CONSTITUTION: A lap W is supplied through a supply roller 17 to the nipping position of a nipper unit 11, 13. In the closed nipper unit 11, 13, the fiber tuft of the lap is brought into contact with a rotating circular comb 18 and combed with the circular comb segment 19. Then the nipper unit 11, 13 is opened and the combed fiber tuft is directly supplied to the detaching roller pair 6 and combined with the lap previously combed. The fiber tuft is cut from the lap positioned in the nipper unit 11, 13, travelled as a comber sliver to a discharge table 22, then doubled and spun into a yarn by a spinning method which positions the most part of neps to the inside of the yarn.
