To provide a method and an apparatus wherein a combustible substance such as waste and coal is gasified, and product gas is produced involving a much volume of a meltable combustible fraction in ash fraction of the combustible substance with self heat, and melted and combusted.
In a method where waste is gasified in a fluidized bed furnace 2, and then an ash fraction therein is melted in a melting furnace, a circulation flow of a fluid medium is formed in a fluidized bed furnace 2 and waste is supplied into the fluidized bed furnace 2 for gasifying to produce gas and char, and then non-combustible substances involved in the waste and the fluid medium are discharged from a bottom of the fluidized bed furnace 2. From the discharged non-combustible substances and the fluid medium a large sized non-combustible substances are removed, and thereafter the non-combustible substances are classified and removed, and the classified fluid medium is returned into the fluidized bed furnace 2, and further gas and char discharged from the fluidized bed furnace 2 are supplied into a melting furnace 41 to melt an ash fraction.
