Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable a user to surely a portable medium in any nation by securing such a constitution where a processor can deliver an indication in a set language based on the indication information stored previously in the portable medium. CONSTITUTION:A memory part 5 of an IC card 1 stores previously the indication information on the characters and voices for an indication given in a desired language that can be delivered from a processor 3 in an application mode in addition to the personal information. For instance, a Japanese puts IC card 1 into a processor 3 in the United States. Thus a processing part 11 of the processor 3 reads the personal information on the user and the indication information out of the part 5 of IC card 1 via an R/W part 21 and stores them in a memory part 13. The part 11 extracts the necessary Japanese indication information out of the part 13 when an indication is given to the user and gives indications to the user in Japanese via a display 15 and a speaker 19.
