To provide a character recognition system surely converting unclear characters by providing discriminant items for specifying character types to reduce erroneous recognition of an OCR based on information written with an electronic pen.
In a processing system 100, a user fills in a form 3 for the electronic pen using the electronic pen 10. A server 5 acquires entry information from the electronic pen 10, and extracts item entry information corresponding to entry contents to each item. Further, the server 5 specifies the discriminant items marked with check marks, based on the item entry information. The server 5 further specifies entry object items corresponding to the discriminant items marked with the check marks. The server 5 performs character recognition by the OCR or the like based on the item entry information written in the specific items to be filled in, to recognize characters with specific character types.
