Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject advantageously producible flexible article, capable of manifesting ectoparasitic controlling activities for a long period and advantageous to use by attachment thereof to an animal by dispersing an antiectoparasitic controlling agent in a thermosetting resin matrix curable by free-radical polymerization. CONSTITUTION: This antiectoparasitic controlling article comprises a thermosetting resin matrix curable by free-radical polymerization, an agent, dispersed in the resin matrix and having antiectoparasitic activities for an animal, preferably an insecticide and is a substantially flexible article for distributing the agent. The agent is contained in an amount and of the type so as to liberate the ectoparasitic controlling effective amount thereof for a long period in the resin matrix. The article is attached to the animal and the attachment to the animal is continued for a period sufficient to kill or repel the ectoparasite. Thereby, the ectoparasite found on the animal can be killed or repelled from the animal.
