Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce 1-alkylaminoanthraquinone derivative useful as an intermediate for various dyes and pigments on an industrial scale in high purity and yield at a low cost by reacting a halogenoanthraquinone with an amine in the presence of an acid scavenger.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of formula II (e.g. 1- methylaminoanthraquinone) is produced by reacting (A) a 1- halogenoanthraquinone (preferably 1-chloroanthraquinone) with (B) an acid scavenger (preferably one or more compounds selected from among potassium acetate, sodium acetate, sodium propionate, potassium propionate, sodium carbonate, potassium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, calcium acetate, magnesium acetate, magnesium oxide and calcium oxide) and (C) an amine of formula I (R1 and R3 are each H, a halogen, hydroxy, an alkoxy, etc.). Preferably, the amounts of the compounds B and C are 0.7-1.5mol and 5-15mol based on 1mol of the component A, respectively, and the reaction temperature is 90-160°C.
