PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for producing 1- hexene capable of reducing the distillation cost of a reaction liquid and effectively using a chromium catalyst.
SOLUTION: This production of 1-hexene refers to a trimerization reaction of ethylene using a chromium-based catalyst and is to continuously feed ethylene gas in a tank-shaped reaction vessel, carry out a trimerization reaction of ethylene in a reaction solvent having higher boiling point than that of 1-hexene in the presence of the chromium-based catalyst under a heated and pressurized condition, continuously deliver 1-hexene in the vapor phase in the reaction vessel together with ethylene gas outside the reaction vessel and recover 1- hexene by separating ethylene gas from the delivered gas.
