Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a compound useful for exterminating parasites, nematodes and mites by reacting cyclopropanecarboxylic acids with a reducing agent.
CONSTITUTION: A compound represented by formula I (X1 and X2 are each a halogen; R1 is a halogen, a 1-8C alkyl, a 1-14C aryl, C...N or the like; Y is SO2alk1 (alk1 is an alkyl) or the like; R is H, a 1-8C alkyl or an alcohol residue) is hydrogenated with a reducing agent (e.g. Pd) to thereby afford a compound represented by formula II. The compound represented by formula I is produced by reacting a compound represented by formula III with a compound represented by formula IV in the presence of a base and then reacting the resultant compound with a sulfonylating agent, a phosphonylating agent, a thiophosphorylating agent or an acylating agent.
