Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce the subject compound in high selectivity and yield by using a catalyst resistant to the deterioration of catalytic activity and having improved selectivity and conversion in an easily recoverable and reusable state.
CONSTITUTION: 3-Cyano-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexanone is made to react with ammonia and hydrogen in the presence or absence of organic solvent to obtain 3-aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylamine. The reaction is carried out by using a fine spherical catalyst particles consisting of silica or silica-alumina supporting metallic cobalt.
