Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce 3-hydroxyisoxazole useful as a modifier for base materials of medicines or agrochemicals from a low-cost 5-alkoxy-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-3- oxoisoxazole as the raw material with high purity in a high yield.
CONSTITUTION: The characteristics of this method for production of 3- hydroxyisoxazole comprise acylating a 5-alkoxy-2,3,4,5tetrahydro-3-oxoisoxazole with an acylating agent, subsequently dealcoholizing the resultant acylated compound and hydrolyzing it.
