Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce 4,4'-diamino-1,1'-dianthraquinonyl-3,3'-disulfonic acid or its salt in an industrially advantageous manner by heating 1-amino-4- halogenoanthraquinonesulfonic acid and a nearly stoichiometric amount of copper.

CONSTITUTION: 1-Amino-4-halogenoanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid and a copper powder having a specific surface area of 0.25m2/g or above are heated in an aqueous medium under acidic conditions.
