Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the slurry handleability after crystallization and to improve the product quality and productivity in the purification of aqueous 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid through crystallization.

CONSTITUTION: Aqueous 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid is crystallized out in the presence of a quaternary ammonium salt in an amount of at least 10mg/kg of 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid and collected.
