Abstract:
PURPOSE: Immobilized penicillin acylase is allowed to act on an aqueous solution of an alkali metal salt of penicillin and the resultant hydrolyzate is specifically treated to give 6-aminopenicillanic acid free from discoloration during storage.
CONSTITUTION: Immobilized penicillin acrylase is allowed to act on an aqueous alkali metal salt solution of penicillin and the resultant hydrolyzate is separated from the enzyme. The product is filtered using filtration particles of less than 0.5×, preferably 0.08W0.4μ sizes, then the filtrate is subjected to crystallization to give 6-aminopenicillan.
