Abstract:
PURPOSE: To raise concentration of catalyst, to prevent deactivation of catalytic activity and to produce acetic acid or methyl acetate by one-stage reaction from methanol.
CONSTITUTION: Methanol is reacted in the presence of a solid catalyst in a vapor phase to produce acetic acid or methyl acetate. The solid catalyst includes an anion of anion exchanger and a heterocyclic polynuclear compound of Ru-Sn. The heterocyclic polynuclear compound of Ru-Sn includes a complex of the formula [Ru(SnX3)6].Z, [Ru(SnX3)5(PRa3].Z and [RuSnX3)6(RbCN)].Z [in the formula, X is halogen atom, Ra is phenyl group, Rb is methyl group, etc., and Z is counter cation].
