Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing acrolein or methacrolein at a high selection rate by the catalytic gaseous phase oxidation of propene or isobutene.

CONSTITUTION: In the method for producing the acrolein or methacrolein by subjecting the propene or isobutene to the catalytic gaseous phase oxidation on a catalytically active oxide having a ≥90% conversion of the initial olefin at the time of one time of passage in a tubular stationary bed reactor; the temp. of gas-contg. reaction components is kept at 360 to 420°C until the conversion of the initial olefin from the inlet of the tube in the direction of the flow along the tube attains 30 to 70% and is then controlled to 360 to 300°C until the conversion of the initial olefin attains 80 to 90%; following which the temp. is maintained at 330 to 390°C until the gas is emitted from the tube.
