Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce an activated carbon using a heavy and crude oil ash generated by a combustion of a heavy oil and a crude oil used as a fuel for power generation at a thermal power plant, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The method is composed of a first stage in which the heavy and crude oil ash is washed with an acid or water and dried, a second stage in which PVA, CMC, etc., are kneaded as a finder and the mixture is granulated under pressure, a third stage in which the ash is heated at 600°C for 30min in an inert gas to carbonize the ash and a fourth stage in which the carbonized matter is activated with gaseous CO2 and steam.
