Abstract:

PURPOSE: To economically and advantageously obtain the subject compd. on an industrial scale by directly acylating a five-membered heteroaromatic compd. in the presence of a specified acylating agent sand a catalyst.

CONSTITUTION: The five-membered heteroaromatic compd. of formula I or II (R1 to R3 are each H, 1-12C alkyl, 1-12C alkenyl, 1-12C alkoxy or the like, but at least one of R1 to R3 is H; R4 is H, 1-12C alkyl, 1-12C alkenyl or the like) (such as imidazole, pyrazole or the like) is brought to react with the acylating agent (such as chloroacetic acid or the like) of formula III (Y is a halide group, alkoxy or the like) in the presence of zeolite (preferably, pentasil type aluminosilicate zeolite or the like) as a catalyst to obtain the compd. of formula IV and V (R5 is 1-12C alkyl, 1-12C alkenyl or the like).
