Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce an aldehyde cyclic trimer used as a synthetic raw material for trioxane derivative, etc., advantageously on process.
CONSTITUTION: An aldehyde expressed by the formula R-CHO (R is hydrocarbon residue) is reacted in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a heteropolyacid. Thereby the reaction liquid is separated into two liquid phases consisting of a product phase and catalyst phase, after reaction. As a result, aldehyde cyclic trimer can be obtained by taking out the product phase from the reaction liquid by liquid separation treatment.
