Abstract:
PURPOSE: To easily produce a solid acid catalyst having excellent reactivity for such reactions of alkylation, isomerization, polymn., dehydration, and dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons by adding a soln. containing sulfuric acid radicals to a dry powder or granular molded material of Al hydroxide or Al oxide so as to deposite a specified proportion of sulfuric acid radicals on the powder or granules. CONSTITUTION: A soln. containing sulfuric acid radicals such as sulfuric acid aq. soln. is added by ≤80 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of a dry powder or granular molded material of Al hydroxide or Al oxide so as to deposit 0.5-15wt.% of sulfuric acid radicals calculated as sulfur on the powder or granules. By this method, a solid acid catalyst can easily be produced without filtration or calcination, and the obtd. catalyst has excellent reactivity for such reactions of alkylation, isomerization, polymn., dehydration, and dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons and hardly causes corrosion of a reaction device and can easily be separated from the reacting matter and from the reaction product.
