Title:
PRODUCTION OF ALUMINUM-KILLED STEEL INGOT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04158953
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce surface flaw at position corresponding to shoulder part of an ingot after blooming by using the specific composition of a feeder head flask in casting of an aluminum-killed steel.

CONSTITUTION: By using the feeder head flask made of material containing 5-40wt% CaF2, casting is executed. For this purpose, at the time of contacting with molten steel, CaF2 is reacted with the other raw material in the feeder head flask and low m.p. material is generated and the fused material layer is formed on contacting surface with the molten steel and this prevents reaction of Al and SiO2. Therefore, the surface defect is reduced and the blooming material having good quality can be easily obtd.
