Abstract:

To easily obtain an amide in high efficiency by bringing an oxime in a liquid phase into contact with a zeolite catalyst bearing iminium ions to effect facilitating catalyst separation and recovery and also enabling continuous flow-through reaction with stationary bed.

An amide is obtained by bringing (B) an oxime in a liquid phase into contact with (A) a zeolite catalyst (pref. Y-type zeolite ion-exchanged with lanthanoid cations) bearing iminium ions produced by reaction pref. between an alkylating agent (pref. a dialkyl sulfate, sulfonic ester, or trtalkyloxonium, salt) and an N,N-dialkylformamide. To carry the iminium ions on the zeolite, for example, the iminium ions are formed and then carried on the zeolite by the ion change method.
