Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a method capable of providing an amine in high yield and simultaneously carrying out reaction in low temperature and low pressure as much as possible when the amine is produced by hydrogenating a nitrile.
CONSTITUTION: A metal alkoxide or silica sol is added as a support raw material to a polyhydric alcohol in which one or two or more kinds of metal salts having a catalytic hydrogenating addition ability. Water is added to the mixture to carry out hydrolysis and the produced gel is dried and, as necessary, calcined and then reduced to prepare a supported metal catalyst. A nitrile is hydrogenated by using this catalyst to produce the objective amine.
