PURPOSE: To produce an amine derivative useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals by using a new compound derived from a nitrone compound and an organic acid halide as a starting raw material and reacting the material with a nucleophilic agent.

CONSTITUTION: The objective amine derivative of formula III (Nu is group introduced from a nucleophilic agent) is produced by reacting a compound of formula I (R1 to R3 are H or organic group; R1 may together with R2 or R3 form an alkylene chain) with an organic acid halide of formula R4-X (R4 is acyl; X is halogen) and reacting the obtained new compound of formula II with a nucleophilic agent. The amine derivative of formula III is useful as a production raw material for clemastine (an antihistaminic agent), indicine-N- oxide (a carcinostatic agent), etc.
