PURPOSE: To obtain an antimicrobial polyester decorative sheet being safe to human body, excellent in durability and capable of retaining antimicrobial property by using an unsaturated polyester resin to which calcium-based ceramic baked material powder carrying an antimicrobial metal thereon is added as a resin for surface of decorative sheet.
CONSTITUTION: An adhesive 2 is applied to a sheet material 1 such as lauan plywood and paper is attached to the board material 1. Then, an unsaturated polyester resin 5 to which antimicrobial agent 3 consisting of calcium-based ceramic baked material powder carrying antimicrobial metal thereon is added is applied to the surface of paper. The surface coated with the unsaturated polyester resin is covered with a synthetic resin film and the resin is cured. The covered synthetic resin film is released to provide the objective antimicrobial polyester decorative sheet. Silver and/or zinc is preferably used as the antimicrobial metal. The content of the antimicrobial metal carried on the calcium-based baked material powder is at least 0.001wt.%. Since the antimicrobial metal is strongly bonded to ceramics by high-temperature baking in the antimicrobial agent and stabilized, the metal is not eluted as an ion and the antimicrobial effect is not lowered.
