PURPOSE: In catalytically converting a lower olefin into an aromatic compound, to obtain 6W8C aromatic components for a long period stably and in high yield, by using ZSM-5 type zeolite catalyst containing both zinc and tungsten and carrying out the reaction under a specific state.
CONSTITUTION: In catalytically converting a lower olefin, especially a hydrocarbon raw material containing propylene into an aromatic compound which is a high-octane gasoline base material or a petroleum chemical product having high added value, the above-mentioned reaction is carried out by the use of a ZSM-5 type zeolite catalyst containing 5W100wt% calculated as WO3 based on zeolite of tungsten and zinc in an atomic ratio Zn/W of 1/10W1/1 at 200W600°C and the ratio of the catalyst/the raw material = 1W100(g.hr/mol) to obtain 6W8C aromatic components having high added value in high yield for a long time and relatively stably while suppressing catalytic deterioration caused by coke.
