Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the seamless steel pipe having the performance equal to the performance of a SUS 304 stainless steel by using a SUS 304L stainless steel without executing a soln. heat treatment.
CONSTITUTION: This invention relates to the process for producing the austenitic stainless steel seamless pipe contg., by weight%, ≤0.03% C, ≤1.00% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, 9 to 13% Ni, 18 to 20% Cr, and ≤0.3% N. A pipe stock rolled at ≥20% reduction ratio is reheated to 1000 to 1100°C and is then subjected to finish rolling at 5 to 20% reduction ratio and thereafter, the pipe is allowed to cool.
