PURPOSE: To obtain a B-added austenitic stainless steel sheet which is crack-free and has a good surface characteristic and yield by heating a specifically composed steel to a prescribed temp. and subjecting the steel to finish rolling at the specific temp. taking the content of B into consideration or above.
CONSTITUTION: The steel consisting of 0.3W2.0wt% B, ≤0.08% C, ≤2.0% Si, ≤2.0% Mn, ≤0.05% P, ≤0.03% S, 16.0W20.0% Cr, 8.0W15.0% Ni, ≤3.0% Mo, ≤0.15% N, and the balance iron and unavoidable impurities is prepd. The steel is heated to a 1,100W1,175°C region and is subjected to the finish rolling at the temp. expressed by the equation or above to produce the above-mentioned steel sheet. In the formula, T: the temp. of the finish rolling, B: the amt. of the B to be added (wt%). More preferably, the steel made of the above- mentioned constitution is used as a stock and ≥1 sheets of such stocks are stacked to form an inside material, then the inside material is enclosed with a cover material and side plates to assemble the stock for pack rolling; thereafter the stock is subjected to the heating and finish rolling under the above- mentioned temp. conditions.
