Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the title avarmectin A ingredient in good yield from cultured product and inexpensively produce avermectin B1a in high yield by culturing a specific microorganism belonging to the genus Streptomyces.
CONSTITUTION: A microorganism [e.g. Streptomyces avermitilis K2021 (FERM P-10991), etc.] belonging to the genus Streptomyces, exhibiting resistance to isoleucine metabolism antagonist and having avermectin producing ability is cultured in a culture medium to produce and accumulate the aimed compound in the cultured product and the aimed compound is collected. Furthermore, microorganism belonging to Streptomyces avermitilis among the above-mentioned microorganisms is novel microorganism.
