PURPOSE: To provide a grind stone which can hold a high machining load by producing the same through a method wherein grain is provisionally applied to a bar- or wire-formed base metal through plating and then wire drawing is effected on the base metal before final plating is applied to the base metal.

CONSTITUTION: A piano wire of, for example, 0.6mm is coated with #200 diamond particles mixed with nickel particles by means of an epoxide family adhesive. It is then subjected to a nickel plating thechnique up to the thickness of 10μ or so. Subsequently, wire drawing is effected on the wire to 0.73mm or so by die drawing. The drawn material is finally plated through a nickel plating technique while it is stretched under an axial tension of about 60kg to obtain a final product.
