Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a base material for producing a refractive index distribution type optical fiber.
CONSTITUTION: The base material composed of a high refractive index inside layer 5 and a low refractive index outside layer 3 is produced by using an amorphous fluorinated high polymer (a) having no C-H bond and at least one kind of a material (b) ≥0.001 in the difference of refractive index compared with the high polymer (a) by rotational molding and at this time, the concentration gradient of the material (b) is formed by diffusing the material (b) between the inside and outside layers.
