PURPOSE: To produce a bent product excellent in both bendability and strength by rapidly cooling the hot-extruded shape of an Al-Mg-Si alloy having a specified compsn. and thereafter subjecting the same to bending and natural aging treatment.

CONSTITUTION: The billet of an Al-Mg-Si alloy having a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.4 to 1.2% Mg, 0.4 to 0.9% Si, and the balance Al is subjected to hot extrusion at 480 to 530°C and is subjected to extrusion molding to form it into a tubular shape. This high temp. extrusion molded tube material is rapidly cooled to ordinary temp. at 40 to 80°C/sec cooling rate, is hardened and is thereafter subjected to bending. This worked product is subjected to natural aging for 7 to 30 days, by which the bent product made of the Al-Mg-Si alloy good in bendability and having excellent strength can easily be produced.
