Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide uniform foams molded into a desired shape and having unifoam fine foam cells by preventing shrinkage due to moisture at the time of the foaming of a biodegradable resin.
CONSTITUTION: Moisture and a biodegradable resin 10 are substantially charged in a cylindrical container 1 and heated to the vicinity of the softening point-m.p. of the resin during pressure feed to be brought to a fluidized state and extruded into an air permeable mold A. By this method, the biodegradable resin is suddenly released from a heated and pressurized state to be foamed. At this time, for example, by setting the atmosphere where the mold A is arranged to a reduced pressure or ventilation atmosphere immediately after extrusion, the moisture evaporated from the biodegradable resin can be forcibly removed and the shrinkage of the biodegradable resin can be prevented. By supporting moisture on a hygroscopic fine granular substance such as talc or silica to disperse the same, the biodegradable resin 10 is finely and uniformly foamed.
