Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject resin usable at a high flow rate with longevity without deteriorating column performance by slurrying a hydrophilic cellular polymer gel, forming an anionic surface binding polymer layer, washing the resultant reaction product, adding and reacting a compound capable of providing boric acid group therewith. CONSTITUTION:A substrate resin 1 composed of a hydrophilic cellular crosslinked polymer gel is prepared and then dispersed in a solution capable of readily forming a surface polymer layer to provide a slurry. A polymer to be bound thereto is subsequently added and reacted therewith to form a surface binding polymer layer 4 composed of an anionic polymer having high hydrophilicity. The resultant reaction product is then sufficiently washed with pure water and an alcohol and subsequently mixed with a compound capable of providing boric acid group to be permeated into pores 2 of the substrate. The surface binding polymer is reacted with unreacted functional groups in the pores at a prescribed temperature for a prescribed time. The obtained resin is sufficiently washed with a buffer solution and then sufficiently washed with water to afford the objective resin having the boric acid groups 3 introduced into the pores.
