PURPOSE: To enable knitting of arbitrary braid texture by placing a number of mobile members containing yarn bobbins on a plate and moving the mobile members by attracting the member with a magnet from the reverse side of the plate.
CONSTITUTION: A number of mobile members 3 each containing a bobbin 10 wound with a braiding yarn 9 are slidably placed on a non-ferromagnetic plate 2 and the members 3 are attracted by the magnetic force of a transfer member 18 placed at the reverse side of the plate 2 and are transferred by transferring the transfer member 18 along a prescribed path. Preferably, the plate 2 is composed of a pair of plates 2a, 2b fixed in parallel to each other interposing a spacer 4 therebetween, an intermediate member 15 is placed between both plates 2a and 2b and magnets 6, 16, 17, 19 having opposite polarities are attached to the opposite parts of an intermediate member 15, the mobile member 3 and the transfer member 18.
