PURPOSE: To rapidly obtain the subject compd. at a high yield by bringing a specific compd. and a tervalent org. phosphorus compd. into reaction.
CONSTITUTION: A compd. of formula I [X is O, S; R(1), R(2) are each H, a 1 to 4C alkyl, 1 to 4C alkenyl, etc.; R(3) is H, a 1 to 4C alkyl, etc.; the alkyl may be mono- or di-substd. with hydroxy, 1 to 4C alkoxy, etc.; R(4) is H or a carboxy protective group which may be removed by hydrolysis, oxidation, etc., or enzymatically; R(5) is H, an alcohol protective group] and a compd. of formula II [R(6), R(7) are each a 1 to 4C alkyl, allyl, etc., and may be substd. with a 1 to 3C alkyl, 1 to 3C alkoxy; R(8) is a 1 to 4C alkyl, phenyl and may be substd. with a 1 to 3C alkyl, 1 to 3C alkoxy] are brought into reaction preferably at 70 to 165°C in an org. solvent (e.g.; THF, etc.), by which the desired compd. of formula III is obtd.
