Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce a desired-shape cast ingot of high-purity copper single crystal without damage to the desirable characteristics of a high-purity copper material used as the raw material.
CONSTITUTION: A graphite mold 1 having an inner shape corresponding to the outer shape of a cast ingot to be produced is fixed to the inside of a graphite crucible leaving a prescribed space between the outer wall and the graphite crucible 2. A high-purity copper 6 and a copper material 7 are placed respectively in the graphite mold and the above-mentioned space and the whole units are accommodated in a bell-jar 4. The inside of the bell-jar is vacuumed and the copper material is heat melted by a mobile high-frequency coil 5 attached to the periphery of the bell-jar, thus producing the objective cast ingot.
