Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obtain, with a high productivity, an olefinic polymer, excellent in mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, resistant to fracturing of the pellets and generation of fine particles, high in bulk density and excellent in flowability, comprising a metallocene type transition metal compd. and a specific smectite-family layered silicate.
SOLUTION: A metallocene type transition metal compd. having formula I or II (wherein CpR1aH5a and CpR2bH5b are each cyclopentadienyl (Cp); R1-2 are each a (silicon-contg.) hydrocarbon group which can also comprise a 1-30 C substituent, phosphor, nitrogen or an oxygen-contg. hydrocarbon group; (a) and (b) are each 0-5; and (p), (q) and (r) are each 0-3) is combined with layered silicate particles composed of 0.1-50 wt.% of a smectite-family layered silicate with an average particle size being 20-1,000 μm, the no. of particles which is ≤10 μm in particle size being ≤20% of the whole particles, the fracture strength under pressure (microcompression tester) being 0.5 Mpa or more, and the bulk density being 0.6 g/cm3 or more, and with 99.9-50 wt.% of an ion-exchange type mica-family layered silicate.
