Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a process for forming, using a halogen-free solvent not causing environmental pollution, a cellulose acylate film useful as a photographic film and a protective film for polarizing plates.
CONSTITUTION: From a solution comprising 15-250 pts.wt. solvent comprising at least 60wt.% 1,3-dioxolane and 10 pts.wt. cellulose acylate dissolved therein, a film is cast with microwave heating to efficiently obtain the film excellent in transparency, homogeneity, and optical isotropy and reduced in residual solvent content.
